Bárbara Esteban

I am Bárbara Esteban from Spain, and I am a master's student in Ecology and Sustainable Development in Linköping University. I have already started my master's thesis fieldwork in the Finsjöbrännan Nature Reserve (Kalmar län), half of which burned during a wildfire in 2021. It is extremely exciting to study how these catastrophic events can promote biodiversity and become very rich habitats, and I will do so with a particular focus on my favourite group of insects: the beetles! I really enjoy fieldwork and science communication, so I am very motivated to get good results that I can share with my classmates, other researchers, and basically anyone who is interested in ecology and biodiversity.
