Gabriel Johansson

I am Gabriel Johansson, a bachelor's student in the Biology Programme at Linköping University. My interests in ecology, biodiversity, and species of conservation concern led me to study the effects of vegetation encroachment on lichens growing on ancient oaks. Together with Hans Andersson, I carried out the degree project Occurrence and Distribution of Lichens on Ancient Oaks Along a Successional Gradient. Our fieldwork included surveys of 149 oaks, followed by analyses of lichen occurrence, coverage, and trunk aspect, providing insights into how habitat change influences threatened lichen species.
