Hans Andersson

I am Hans Andersson, a bachelor's student in the Biology Programme at Linköping University. My interests in ecology, conservation biology, and the natural landscapes of Östergötland inspired my degree project, Occurrence and Distribution of Lichens on Ancient Oaks Along a Successional Gradient. Together with Gabriel Johansson, I investigated how vegetation encroachment affects four epiphytic lichen species growing on ancient oaks. During three weeks of fieldwork, we surveyed 149 oaks and analysed how encroachment influences lichen occurrence, coverage, and distribution, contributing to a better understanding of species conservation in changing landscapes.
