Julia Sidestål

My name is Julia Sidestål and I have just finished my first year at the Master's programme of ecology and sustainable development at Linköping university. I have always had a great interest in nature and find myself enjoying almost every part of it! My favourite part of ecology is restoration and restoration follow-ups, because of their great importance for knowledge and future projects. For my thesis, I am investigating if topsoil removal is a good method for restoring rich fens. My focus is on carabid communities in particular, as they are fast at colonizing in early successional stages. Data will be collected with pitfall traps and structure surveys around each trap.
